Short-term goals

While climbing a mountain should we focus only on the long-term goal (getting to the top) or enjoy the short-term goals as well (like reaching a particular milestone).

If you don't enjoy and appreciate the milestones along the way chances are you might not gather enough motivation and enough rest to reach the top.
But the other side to enjoying the short-terms goals is that if the necessary focus is not there chances are we might just stop at that milestone ... thinking that this is the goal or worse yet basking in its glory forgetting what the goal was and how beautiful it must be up there.

Its really a case of choosing what we feel best at that point of time after weighing both the pros and cons. Enjoy the journey .... but remember its just the journey and not the destination.
