Curiosity killed the cat ... and it's doing the same to me.
My urge to know everything happening around me and in the lives of the people I know is like slow poison.
Even though I know that knowing about these things is absolutely useless and doesn't make my life better or happier in any way I still wanna know all about them. Knowing these things, if anything, makes my life more "heavy" and complex.
The issue is that even though I know that this urge is worthless I have not really understood or believed in it. As a result, that urge still exists. This particular category of knowledge corrupts, not because that knowledge has a corrupting property but because I am corruptible … yet. I can see multiple incidents in my life showing me fruitlessness of this but somehow I seem to be thinking these events are incidental and hence that final act of conviction hasn't occurred … yet. It will happen and I will reach there.
It makes so much sense that the souls who know about everything and everyone are the ones who are not affected by that knowledge in any way! Only those souls deserve to know all!
