Shrug
"If you saw Atlas, the giant who holds the world on his shoulders, if you saw that he stood, blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling but still trying to hold the world aloft with the last of his strength, and the greater the effort the heavier the world bore down upon his shoulders—what would you tell him to do?" [said Francisco]"
I…don’t know. What…could he do? What would you tell him?" [said Dagny.]
"To shrug." [said Francisco]
(addressed to: me.)
Live for your own self. Its hard to be a true altruist ... its hard to accept the fact that you are not one. Its dangerous to think you are one when you are not. Instead, just shrug, release the self-sacrificial responsibility and recognize your own right to live. Realize that you live only for yourself and not for other people. Your helping other people is just incidental.
Maybe I am being too cynical ... or maybe it comforts you in thinking that I am cynical.
Either way I dont care ...
