So true. Some days you put in a lot of effort and the end result is nothing. Some days you do nothing and everyone goes ga-ga over you. Some days nothing you do goes wrong and some days everything does. Some days people praise you when you haven't contributed anything and some days people rebuke you in spite of your best efforts.
The thing to remember in both these extreme scenarios and every other scenario in between is that I should be/am above all this. Whatever happened (bouquets/brickbats) happened because it had to happen. If I could control it then there was no way I would want bad things to happen or people to think bad about me.
People think whatever they want about me based on perceptions they have built of me. It is an image and not necessarily the truth in every case. I cannot change their thought or their perceptions but what I should do is make sure I am always honest in everything I do. People may or may not change their perceptions about me based on the honest behavior but that should not be my concern. I should be honest because I want to be and that's how I am. It shouldn't be to change perceptions about me in people's eyes as that is simply not possible. Honesty combined with being level-headed (whatever happens had to happen) goes a long way.
Being honest pays. It helps achieve the ultimate! It makes me happy. There is nothing more I can ask for. There is nothing more I want to ask for.
