When we worship someone we are really worshipping our beliefs and our faith … we are not really worshipping that person (because if we worshipped that person that person doesn't change and hence our worshipping shouldn't change. But our beliefs and faith do change over a period of time and hence our worshipping levels fluctuates). When we are being friendly/intimate with someone we are being the same not with the person but with our expectations … the other person doesn't necessarily change but our expectations/prejudices change and hence the friendship/relationship gets affected.
Currently my worship/devotion is towards my own faith/beliefs. They are not towards a particular person or his qualities. I am essentially bowing down to and worshipping my own beliefs. Sometimes the person/qualities don't seem as appealing and sometimes it feels there is nothing else but that. That's again my mind playing games and I am worshipping my own perspective (faith/belief). I call it a perspective as it is subjective and not objective.
Worshipping and Devotion should be objective and not subjective. True worship happens when one worships qualities of a person. Qualities never change and once one realises that there is no wavering. There is complete submission. That is faith. Worshipping and Devotion become pure and perfect. When this happens the person worshipping becomes worthy of worship himself.
