4. Do not be jealous

Jealousy as defined on answers.com ::: (noun): Resentful or painful desire for another's advantages

resentful or painful desire ... not just simple desire, a painful desire ...

every human is not equal ... some are better-placed than others in terms of wealth, knowledge, relations, etc. (materialistic matters) ... accepting that fact can be quite tough sometimes ... not accepting it leads to envy ... why am I not in his/her position ... a natural thing, one would assume, to think in some circumstances ... but digging deeper as to why its like that can almost surely stop jealously and make us more focused in our drive to attain that position ... a drive fueled by jealousy can and will lead to a vindictive behavior ... while a drive fueled by understanding will be equally rewarding in terms of success without that vindictive behavior ...

As said by The Killers ... very apt ::: "Jealousy, turning saints into the sea" ... taking away my peace of mind

Individual or society ?

Which one defines the other ?
Is it the society which defines an individual ? or
Is it an individual which defines the society ?

Which one can exist without the other ?

Whichever can, defines the other.

According to me ... an individual can exist without the society but a society cant exist without an individual. A society, by definition, requires individuals for it to exist. An individual on the other hand, doesn't require a society to exist.

That's why we should attach more importance to an individual rather than a society. We should be more concerned about preserving fierce individualism than saving society's shams.

An amalgamation of individuals, though useful and maybe even required, shouldn't in any way replace an individual or his/her principles.

Losing a society is sad, losing an individual a tragedy.

3. Do not crave for recognition

First of all ... there is a difference between craving for recognition and aiming big ... one shouldnt be confused with the other.

Why should what another human being feel about you or about what you do bother/affect you in any way?
Are we that shallow/not confident of ourselves that somebody else should give his/her sign of approval for us to feel good about ourselves or about what we do?

Coming back to the main point ... the same pattern continues ... in craving attention we start depending on others ... what do they think of me ... how can I make them feel better about me ... its not about me anymore, its about them ... and there goes our peace of mind.
