The story of 4 journeys

1. Journey from outside to outside - The route that I have travelled most on. Always from thing on the outside to another. From one person to another. From one situation to another. From one thought to another. From one past to another. From one future to another. Constantly in pursuit of seeming happiness. Never getting any. And the 'lovely' journey never relenting.

2. Journey from inside to outside - The journey which happens once in a blue moon with Grace's involvement. A momentary change track-wise, a massive change in attitude-wise. When happiness is intently searched for rather than blindly being pursued.

3. Journey from outside to inside - This expedition has almost follows the previous voyage in my case. More often than not the momentary intent passes and soon after I am again grappling for things on the outside. And again get lost in the seemingly infinite maze outside. Constantly running from one post to another. Caught between devil and the deep sea.

4. Journey from inside to inside – Someday, hopefully soon, voyage # 2 will lead to this. The true journey. The only journey which I don't seem to have taken so far. The journey which starts inside and stays inside. Finding all it ever wanted to find and more. All within.

Believing in destiny is possible only for the level-headed.

One who doesn't revel in success is the only one who is capable of handling failure.

One who can take successes with the same elan as he can take failures is the one worthy of any success and, may I daresay, any failure either.

Failures are not for everyone. Only the truly brave even deserve a failure. Rest all never get to experience even failures let alone successes, all they ever encounter in their lives is misery.

Happiness can only be obtained from within oneself and that's the only place it is found.

I cannot get it from someone else how much ever I want.
No one else can give it to me how much ever they want.
I cannot obtain it from any situation how much ever I want.
No situation can give it to me. Period.

Me, and me alone, can make myself happy.

Same holds for being sad/getting hurt.

Me, and me alone, can bring myself sadness and hurt myself.

This concept needs as much repetition as possible and then some more as I just don't seem to get it.

I am still looking for happiness outside. I am still getting hurt/being sad by situations and people's reactions.

Only when I realize this will I no longer be sad or get hurt.
Only when I realize this will I be happy. Truly.

No. Other. Way. To. Be. Happy.

Deconstructing life

A sleight of hand
And movements frantic,
A swish of the wand,
Now that’s called magic!

An illusion grand
Accompanying a new gimmick,
Leaving people stunned;
Could he really be psychic?

But for the one in command -
It’s just plain karmic
And all too well-planned -
Although seemingly cryptic!

One - A majority

Why do I find solace in a crowd … being part of a majority?

Is it the inherent fear that even if I am doing something right I shouldn’t be alone while doing it?
On the other hand let the thing I am doing be wrong but as long as I have a majority backing me up that’s okay with me. If that’s what the majority of the people would have done in a particular situation then that action becomes justified for me.

That inherent fear is a mix of two major things, IMHO:
1. The need for a muted approval from the majority which indicates a major lack of confidence.
2. A major attitude of easy compromise when it comes to doing the popular thing rather than the 'right' thing.

I still think, and as a result act, like a crowd rather than an individual.

Only when I am able to break out of this 'crowd' attitude will I truly be happy. Only then will the things I’ll be doing be the ones I want to do. Happiness, on a base level, is the mind being sated. The next (and true) level of happiness is transcending the previous base level (it’s a step-by-step process).

For reaching that base level I need to realize which actions of mine are due to the 'crowd' mentality and which ones are individualistic. And start with those.

This will take care of the first reason. As for the second one, that’s just a matter of 'having' strong principles which are easy (and technically all that will be left) when the first has been achieved.

True for the materialistic world. And equally spot on for the spiritual realm.
